Basic pay + DA ₹25,000 a month, rising 5% a year; PF of 12% of full basic pay from you and your employer; 8.25% interest every year; no balance at the start.

At 58: ₹1,76,75,656 (₹1.77 crore). Your contributions ₹28,82,316, your employer's EPF contributions ₹23,87,316, interest ₹1,24,06,024. A further ₹4,95,000 went to the pension scheme.
How it's calculated
- Each month you pay 12% of your basic pay + DA (or of the first ₹15,000) into EPF.
- Your employer also pays 12%. Of that, 8.33% of basic pay up to ₹15,000 (at most ₹1,250 a month) goes to the Employees' Pension Scheme, and the rest to your EPF.
- Interest is the yearly rate ÷ 12 on the balance at the end of each month, after that month's contributions. The year's interest is added at the end of the year, so it compounds once a year.
- Pay rises once a year by the percentage you enter. Contributions and each year's interest are rounded to the rupee.
The EPF rate for FY 2025-26 is 8.25%, notified in July 2026. If you joined EPF after 1 September 2014 with basic pay above ₹15,000, you may not be a member of the pension scheme; your employer's whole share then goes to EPF, and your balance will be higher than shown here.
